Jump to: navigation, search

This MCAT Biological Sciences section covers the aspects of enzymes and there function. Once these basic ideas are complete, the most common metabolic processes found in cells are then covered, which includes glycolysis, the kreb cycle, oxidative phosphorylation (in mitochondria), and the metabolism of common fuels (such as protein and fat).

The following review sections include:

  • Introduction to Enzymes - Covers how enzymes work to reduce activation energy to increase reaction rates
  • Enzyme Inhibition - Covers how enzymes can be manipulated and regulated by other metabolites
  • Introduction to Metabolism - Covers the basics of glycolysis, the kreb cycle, oxidative phosphorylation and the metabolism of fats and proteins.
